Formula SAE Practice Session

May 10 and 11, 2008; 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Auto Club Speedway, Fontana California



1. Crew Members & Spectators: $5.00 admission (for non-SCCA-SOLO).

2. Drivers: $5.00 admission plus $10.00 driver fee; $15.00 total.

3. Course work bond: $100.00 per FSAE Team - refundable to teams that
participate in SOLO Autocross work including course set-up/tear-down.



College and University Formula SAE teams are invited to run their Formula
cars and train their drivers at a Formula SAE practice event on May
10th-11th. The practice will be hosted by SCCA-SOLO at the Auto Club
Speedway of Southern California (formerly California Speedway) in the
parking lot adjacent to the cart track on Saturday and Sunday, May 10-11.

Participation will give a student formula team the opportunity to get a
formula car tech inspected as well as to "wring out" a car and give drivers
experience on a "hot" course. Volunteer technical inspection and SCCA-SOLO
Dynamic Event track worker team leads will be organizing and training their
team members during the Practice, as well.

The registration gate will open at 6:30 a.m. The first run-group will enter
the course at ~9:00 a.m., and the course will close at ~4:30 p.m. On
Saturday May 10th, Technical Inspection, Acceleration, Skid Pad and
Autocross Events will be run during the morning. A practice Endurance Event
will be run on Sunday morning, May 11th.

Each formula car must go through tech inspection before it can enter the
course. On both Saturday and Sunday afternoons, a standard SOLO autocross
course will be open to any cars that volunteers and student teams wish to
run, including the formula cars. Student formula team members are expected
to help set up the SOLO autocross course and to be track workers.

For non-SCCA-SOLO members, including students, a $5.00 fee will be charged
to enter the practice, and another $10.00 will be charged to drive a car.
These fees cover the cost of insurance. Participating college and university
formula teams will also be asked to post a $100 bond for entering their
cars. This bond will be returned at the end of the event on Sunday for those
teams that complete their work obligation.
